So far so good...

Update: Heard from giant oil and gas company. They offered me a position in Fort McMurray. I had to say no, however they said the only reason they weren't offering me a position here was because do to recent re-shifitng they have no openings. They said I was on their list and would let me know of future positions. I hope they mean it.

In the meantime I'm in the lead in the nominations for our Employee Committee. Craziness.

The mysteries of the human body. I've started weighing myself every morning to track patterns (not obsessing about the number) and I find it perplexing how I apparently lost 2lbs in one day. It's normal to fluctuate throughout the day, I just find it funny. It's that strange formula you must find between food and exercise. Too much of either and the body doesn't necessarily respond how you want.

Yoga was good yesterday. My knees were cursing a little, not hurting just sort of saying "What the heck are you doing to us?". We sat in pidgeon pose for a long time. I don't have anything against pidgeon pose but when one dwells there for awhile it's a not so natural positon to be in.
I'm feeling it a little today.

My instructor asked for suggestion for next week and no one said a word. I'm not sure what to suggest a pose or a session focused on something. I might suggest a series of poses that would be a good whole body stretch especially after boot camp starts.

Did I tell you I went to Subway for lunch yesterday? I was very focused on not leading myself astray and have concluded the only semi points friendly place to eat at in my closest food court is Subway. I have to admit I was not so fond of Subway. When I worked in a mall, I ate there a lot and suffered Subway burn out. There wasn't a lot of selection then so it got boring. I find the toasting process improves my reaction to the sub. It's kind of sort of not version of grilled cheese.

Today I will have the ham sub again on the new bread that says it has 4g of fibre (9 grain something) and my daring choice today...sweet onion sauce.

Tonight I'll make the spaghetti squash that's lurking in my fridge which will probably take care of Thursday and Friday lunch as well. I plan to add some turkey/chicken bratwurst (2pts for 3/4 of a sausage -don't get me started on why they'd calculate the ni on 3/4 of a sausage), tomatoes, capers, a few black olives and some red onion, bit of olive olive, japanese rice vinegar and salt/pepper. I shall report back tomorrow on if that works out.

I'm going to pop in a yoga dvd tonight. I found that I slept like a baby last night and I think it had something to do with the yoga.

Alright off to focus on the day- Hugs!

Back to basics

Hello, hello,
My internet has be down at home and I've been crazy at work so apologies for not posting for awhile.

Let me go back to weigh in. I was up 4lbs. Yikes, but that's what happens when you throw caution to the mind and it showed me just how easy it is to slide into old habits if you don't think about it. I was handing over 3 coupons and my lovely meeting leader gave me one back. She said it would be cheaper to re-register but I didn't want to stand in line again.

I have successfully tracked 3 days in a row and day 4 is already written in my tracker. Have earned 11AP so far, I think I'm on the right track.

Mini update: I just said no to ice cream and I find I drink more water if it's with a straw...who knew.

My internet issues were finally solved yesterday with Telus sending out a tech. Telus sent me a new modem because they did system upgrades effective July 21st. Well from that day one it didn't work. They tried to tell me it had something to do with the line from the adsl jack to the computer. One said it was too long and another said it was the wrong type. So the tech plugs in his modem and I do have a connection. I ask him to test the modem Telus sent...aha that modem didn't work whatsoever. So blah on Telus for sending me a crappy modem.

Tonight I'm going to get a longer ethernet cable so the modem can sit closer to the adsl jack which apparently improves speed. They also were surprised to find I had no filters on the phone jacks. They asked if my internet ever cut out when the phone rang, I answered with never. So they gave me these filters and I attached them to all the phone jacks. But you know what the filter causes static on the phone line. So I took the filter off of the main line I use and we'll see what happens.

Haven't heard anything from giant oil and gas company. I am waiting patiently...most of the time.

I've been asked to be back up babysitter for two dogs and I said o.k yesterday but now I'm thinking I don't want to. It's a long weekend here and there are a few projects I need to do so I'm not sure I want to also keep an eye on two dogs.

Boot camp starts next week and I found someone who blogged about it. It just talks about day 1 to 15 so I'm not sure what the end results were.
Apparently the 5 fitness tests they do at the beginning and the end include push ups (I'm terrible at those), sit ups (so so at those) and a 1km jog (yikes). What I'm focusing on is how good the results will be when these do these tests on the last day.

I shall faithfully report the whole 6 weeks for your reading pleasure.

Alas I should go do stuff. Have a groovy day!

Beached whale

At least that's what I feel like. I'm feeling like I'm walking around with a whole lot of blubber. The vacation is over my friends. My willy wallyness and so-so effort has run it's course. Strangely I mean it this time. My unhappiness with my weight is in my control and no one else's.

Today is C's last day so we went to Wendy's for lunch and I said to her that I need to refocus and she said that with her gone that might be easier. Sadly she's right, it's not that I don't have will power but she's pretty good at leading me astray.

I've been avoiding the scale and I'll face my demons tomorrow morning at WI. Starting a week from now I'll have guaranteed exercise for 4 days out of the week with boot camp and yoga, but I'm going to get started with that a little sooner. Hopefully 7 weeks will set a habit. I actually picked up some inspirational smiley face stickers yesterday that say things like good effort and way to go. They shall go on to the calendar for everyday I exercise.

At Walmart last night I bought two different anti itch sticks, an anibacterial cream and hydro-cortison cream for my strange patch of redness on my thigh. Well the swelling is gone and the redness is easing plus it's not itchy. I think the hydro-cortison cream worked the best. Note to self - create a first aid kit not a medicine cabinet full of odds and ends.

I'm now thinking I will not have an answer from giant oil company this week as I strongly suspect they have the day off today.

So my weekend is focusing on getting me healthy.

Have a great weekend my friends!

Truckin' On

I didn't wind up going to the grocery store yesterday as I met H for coffee and then a falafel after work. By the time we were done I had no desire to go to a grocery store. Tonight I absolutely must as these brownies need to be made.

When I got home yesterday I noticed a red spot on my thigh that looked raised and bigger than a mosquito bite. I noticed it when I started scratching. I have no idea what's it's from but I'm thinking it's a bite from something. The people at work think maybe a spider, that just grosses me out. I circled it with a sharpie so I can tell if it gets bigger. It doesn't appear to be getting bigger and calming down a bit. I'll pick up some Cortison cream on the way home as well.

The day before yesterday I was looking all over the house for my ww tracker, I couldn't find it and then when having coffee with H I found it in my backpack. I burst out laughing when I found it. But with 2 days to weigh in, I'm not too concerned with writing things down as I'll be treating Saturday like day one anyway.

I'm starting to think of all the things I need to do this weekend and it makes me tired. I need to write them down and then feel a sense of accomplishment as I check things off.

I need to create a workout schedule and make a date with myself to get this done. It's far too easy to hit the couch when I get home and stay there until bed time.

Still have not heard boo from giant O&G company. She said she'd get back to me this week but earlier she had said they were in process of moving somethings around so there's a chance I won't hear by this week. I'm getting to the point where I just want to know either way so I can make plans to go on with my life. I'm so hoping it's a "you're hired" answer....of course :)

Alright my friends, now I must go write job ads and try to stay awake.

Hugs!

Mysteries of life and random thoughts

At my Dad's house I had no control over what I was eating really with the exception of breakfast cereal.

Food at Dad's house consists of the following:
Breakfast - Either cereal or hard boiled eggs with toast and coffee
Lunch-Always a protein (wieners, beef or chicken) and usually a starch (pasta, rice or potatoes).
With a few veggies tossed in
3pm- Coffee time, which includes coffee and some type of pastry (donut for example)
Supper-Out of 7 days, 5 nights were Dr. Oetker frozen pizza (different types). They were on sale for $3.99 and Dad had 10 in the big freezer.

When I got back to Calgary I stood on my home scale.....the results....I was down 2lbs from before I left. I did not move a muscle the whole time I was there either. It rained daily which means mud and slippery grass in the country.

This has got me thinking that perhaps I have not been a) eating enough ,b) eating enough protein and c) eating at appropriate times.

So for the remainder of the week I'm going to do a little experiment. I'm upping my protein and making sure I have an afternoon snack. I'm not going to start eating donuts everyday but rather have a Kashi bar.

This morning I scrambled one egg with egg whites and a green onion had it with one piece of toast for breakfast. I had brought a big salad for lunch yesterday so I have left overs for lunch today, but I brought a chopped up turkey bite and some plain sunflower seeds to up the protein.

Tonight I must head to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients for birthday smore brownies for work on Friday. I'll also pick up some fresh veggies and a few more protein options.

I'm starting to think a once a week grocery shop is not the greatest idea for me as I get bored. When I was in Europe I noticed that people bought a litte throughout the week. Mostly because they had tiny fridges not like the giant ones North America uses. At least this was the case at the time.

I'm a terrible food planner, I can't plan a weekly menu to save my life. I can handle a few days. So I'll try to plan a few days at a time over the next few weeks to see how it goes.

Boot camp is looming closer and I'm getting scared. I know there will be different levels of fitness and it's more a scary anticipation then afraid of the actual boot camp.

The back of my head is also thinking of giant oil company's final decision as that is also looming.

I miss naps

I'm tired of all the songs on the radio, why must they play the same ones over and over again.

I hate it when the guide on the digital cable lies and tells you the name of the show you want to record but that's not the show that's on. I wanted to record Work Out, not last 10lb boot camp.

Alright that's enough for today...peace!

Time flies...

I'm back my blogging friends.
My apologies I went off on vacation for a week and forgot to tell you.

Last Friday I had a half day and was home packing for my visit to my Dad in the country when I got a call from giant oil company (remember them?) In the first week of July my recruiter had called to say they were still interested in me. All Stampede week (the following week) I heard nada from them. On the Friday I was at home I called him to find out if anything was happening. Well while I was at home I got a phone call scheduling a second interview. I did let them know beforehand that I was away from the 14th to the 18th. Luckily they were cool with that and scheduled it for today.

It was at noon and I think it went o.k. Now it's seriously out of my hands. The Alberta hiring manager said she'd call me by the end of this week. I've lined up H for drinks if it goes south or if I get the job. She's a very good friend :)

I think they like me so now all I have to do is wait.

On the weightloss front I missed two meetings. I had planned to weigh in before vacation but torrential rain stopped me (o.k I'm a wimp) and this Saturday I got back into the city too late to make any of the meetings. So this Saturday I'll probably just pay the registration fee as opposed to surrenduring 3 coupons.

Of course I tracked nothing for two weeks and have yet to start this week. I need to get my head back into the game.

So I'm back to Blog land and looking forward to reading up on your adventures.

Hugs!!!

Note to self...

Never tell a co-worker that you'll match them drink for a drink at the corporate party...feeling a bit run over today thanks to free beer yesterday at our sister company's stampede event. It was my only Stampede event this year so I thought I'd go in whole hog.

Alas lesson learned, I'm not that bad today but not my usual self.

Alright on to other things.

Did you see the Bachelorette final? I'm surprised by her decision and feel super bad for Jason. Of course now Jason is single. He would make an awesome Bachelor and do they accept Canadian girls? He's yummy.

I'll be happy when Stampede is over, my attempts at western wear are getting really tired.

I'm donating blood on Friday as part of the corporate challenge, I guess I'm really giving a piece of myself....

Offices should install nap rooms...I need one.

Still waiting to hear from giant oil company....

Alright that's all my tired brain has to offer today.

Have a fabulous day!

The parties have started

As I came into work today (8am ish) I passed 3 pancake breakfasts. Yes my friends, Stampede is in full swing.

However after my mini foodapalooza this weekend, if I want to see a loss at the next weigh in, I have to put the brakes on. The tracker is with me and I have planned out my day and that does not include any pancakes whatsoever.

I had a fabulous weekend with fantastic friends. My friend D was in fron Ontario, so D, my friend H, her mom, her nephew T and I headed out to Kananaskis for a hike up the Heart Mtn Trail. I took fabulous pictures that I left at home so they'll be posted later.

On the way down T who is 9 and I were in the lead for quite some time. He told me about a recent death. He got a call from his Dad either that day or the day before about the passing of an Uncle ( not sure if this was a blood related Uncle or friend of the family). Apparently he passed away from throat cancer. Now I was a bit taken by surprise that T decided to talk to me about this. I was quite honoured, he must have felt comfortable with me to some extent to share this. So we walked and talked. He's a cool kid and meant for great things.

The next day H and D were running the HSBC half marathon (the race I dropped out of). Well I'm definitely taking part next year. Those two are huge inspiration and they each posted personal bests. We had a beautiful breakfast buffet at Barclays. I'm not kidding when I say the best scrambled eggs ever.

For the rest of Sunday I cleaned house and have a bit more to do but now it's in manageable chunks. Need to pick up a few groceries to finish off the week before I head out to Dad's next week.

One week in literally the middle of nowhere. I sleep really really well out there. There's something about the clean air and no noise. I'm looking forward to it.

But first I need to get through this week day by day.

Hugs!

Stampede is here....

Yes Ladies and Gents the world famous Calgary Stampede begins today with a parade down the main streets of Calgary. In fact right outside my office. I can hear the bands right now.

Overnight the population of Calgary (just over a 1 million) turn into cowboys and cowgirls. I swear 99.9% of the people I've seen today are dressed in denim. It's a 10 day party of 3 hour lunches, free booze if you get the lucrative invite to a corporate party. Free pancake breakfast every day and this is not including the actual Stampede grounds themselves.

The thing about parade day is suburbia comes downtown and it gets a little ugly. People stake out there spot on sidewalks hours before the parade starts. People are still using these sidewalks. Heaven forbid you want to cross the street because lawn chairs are everywhere. Though you just want to get past these people, they look at you like you're trying to steal there spot.

Hundreds will come into our building seeking public washrooms, it's a private building there are no public washrooms.

Every one of your traditional coffee places will have line ups of suburbans with their strollers and folded up lawn chairs and 6 children. We the employees of downtown are not used to suburbans, we see you in the mall on the weekend or around the neighbourhood but not on the street.

The parade will wrap around noon, when the last of the street cleaners pick up the horse doo doo.

Here are some approximate statistics on the parade courtesy of Calgary Stampede Parade

Number of entries: 170
Number of horses: 750
Number of floats: 40
Number of marching bands: 40
Audience on lining parade route: 350 000
Duration of main parade past a single point: 2 hours

Let the games begin.

...and another step

Giant oil company phoned today to say they hadn't forgotton about me and that they were still very interested in me. They should have a final decision by next week. Stampede hits this fair city on Friday with the Parade. They're closed, we're open. My recruiter and I then chatted about the Stampede and what one likes about it. Him the freshly made kettle corn and the mini donuts for me. Either way my waiting will be over next week.

Of course I know they were also verifying that I was still interested in the position by calling me.

My colleague went on an interview today and loved what she heard at that company, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the future. There are 4 people in my department, another colleague has gone part time to focus on her own business. So they might be down to one....

Loved the show Workout that Jackie seems like a kick ass trainer. Really enjoyed x-weighted last night too. As I watched these shows I really came to the realization that I'm not putting a whole lot of effort into my efforts. I found out today that I might be losing my boot camp buddy, makes no difference I'll see this through even if I have to go by myself.

I am also addicted to the Mole. I'm leaning towards Alex at the moment. One of these days I'll take the mole quiz and find out if I'm even close.

Alright that's all I have for today.

First real day of the week

It was back to the usual schedule this morning as it is the first true work day of the week. All the regulars were on the bus this morning and all the regulars were in the office this morning.

Before leaving this morning I sat down and wrote down all the food I've consumed over the last few days...oy vey I need to get my act together. It's snackapalooza week too so diligence must be strong.

Due to the fact that I didn't get a whole lot done on the weekend I'm trying to do a few things each night so I don't feel overwhelmed this coming weekend. Laundry and organizing my closet was last night. Tonight I'm thinking dust and vacuum.

I still haven't made the turkey meatloaf as it was just too damn hot, but tonight should be cooler so I should do that.

Have any of you been watching The Batchelorette - I admit it's silly but now that we're at the end I'm really curious who she'll pick. I'm a bit surprised that Jessie has made it this far. I'm really rooting for Jason.

The Bravo series Workout premiers on Slice tonight. They're on their 3rd season in the U.S and we're starting at the beginning. It airs right after X-Weighted tonight.

X-Weighted is looking for families for the next season, they have an open call at the Talisman Centre on July 11 and 12. Check http://www.slice.ca/ for details.

Have a fab day!

Happy Canada Day

Happy 141st Birthday Canada!
To my fellow Canadians enjoy your celebrations today.

I am at work, yes we're open today. The building is locked, the air conditioning is turned off and every couple of hours the lights go out. Yeah!!!

We're not alone, I saw other office people in line at Tim Horton's this morning, it was the only coffee place open on my block downtown. Some office called in a big order for breakfast sandwiches and the Tim's employees weren't happy. There were only 2 working today.

My 3 day weekend flew by and I didn't accomplish a whole lot yesterday. I had a candidate no show for a job on Monday morning, but I managed to refill that by 8am yesterday. Mowed the lawn at 8:30 and then vegged until I had to go to the library at 1pm.

It was 30 degrees for the last two days which makes me misreable. I can't stand the heat. My favourite temperature is 20.

I've got laundry waiting for me right now, I will post that Turkey meatloaf recipe in a few days.
I should water the flower beds because it's been so hot. Oy vey it's going to be long day.

Day 2 of a long weekend

Hello fellow bloggers,
I was down .4 on Saturday without really trying, imagine what I could have accomplished had I actually but effort in last week.

I went out to dinner with P to our old haunt Earl's. Not so fabulous service I must say and I did have the coconut cream pie for dessert as I absolutely loved it when they tested it at another Earl's. However this time out, a bit disappointing as it wasn't the same.

Saw Sex in The City and I hate to say this but I didn't think it was so great. I liked it and I'm not regretting paying for it but I thought it could have been better. Love the characters but there seemed to be a whole lot of throwaway story lines.

Today I have yet to change out of my P.Js and I don't think there's a point now. Got home just before 1am last night as it was a late movie. Slept in obviously today. Got some stuff down around the house. Waited too long to mow the lawn and it was too stinking hot outside.

My plan is to mow tomorrow at 9am when it's not so hot and I must pick up a book from the library. I'm working on Canada Day as my office is open and buses are running Sunday schedule so I'll have to look into that.

Lunch next week will be WW recipe for turkey meatloaf in muffin tins with veggies and the Europe's best frozen mini potatoes I have in my freezer. That will a fairly low point lunch.

Not a heck of a lot more to report.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a fabulous Monday.

Hugs!

No news yet

Alas Friday has come and gone with no news from giant oil company. No news is good news right? I suspect they had an every other Friday off today and will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for Canada Day. So I'm thinking the earliest I'll hear anything is Wednesday.

I'm off Monday but working Canada Day, I'm o.k with that long weekend for me.

My first attempt at making a Canadian Flag out of strawberries on a cake was succesful. I'm quite proud of myself as I'm typically useless at free handing maple leafs. Picture was taken with my brand new Canon Powershot SD750.

It was the last day of one of co-workers today and her request was that we all sit down for breakfast this morning. I have yet to be hungry after eating a western omelette sandwich. There was a trip to Tim's for an ice cap and then later we had the Canada cake. So it will be cereal for supper my friends.

Weigh in tomorrow morning and then a fun evening with a friend and finally the opportunity to go see Sex in the City.

Monday is the last day of my class and the day to submit our group assignment. One group member has gone M.I.A and I never got his references to add to our bibliography. Tonight the group meets online and if he isn't there we've got some decisions to make.

Have a great evening everybody!

And another step

Giant company had Backcheck call my references yesterday, they called all three. I know they spoke to two yesterday and the 3rd called them back today. She didn't need to answer any questions as Backcheck informed her all was completed.

So now I wait again...either they're deciding on who to bring back for 2nd interviews or potentially straight to offer. Only time will tell.

On the weightloss front my tracking has been non-existent, but the scale shows I'm down. I am making healthy choices but I do need to get my butt in gear to track.

Hope everyone is doing well and I'll be back when there's news.

Hugs

Monday, June 23, 2008

One more step

Big company phoned for my reference info today....
They wouldn't want to know that unless they liked me - right?

All weekend I kept daydreaming of me entering their building with my yoga mat (Bootcamp starts Aug. 4). I'm wearing their security pass and I can envision my new business card.

Now I just hope my references say nice things about me.

I must calm down, my heart was beating like crazy when I saw their number come up on call display.

Went to weigh in on Saturday to discover my ritual stop at Tim Horton's was thwarted by the fact that they are closed...as in closed down. They were stripped clean with garbage bags over the drive thru menu. I can't believe it. They are always busy.

So now I must get in the habit of leaving a wee earlier and hitting Starbucks. Not fun sitting through a meeting without my coffee.

Scale showed a 1.2 gain, not bad having not weighed in for 2 weeks. I know what needs to be done. Maybe it's a good thing that when I'm nervous I don't snack.

I'll keep you all posted.

Interview done

So I got there amazingly early as I was concerned about the nightmare road going in to downtown. One lane is closed on the bridge for renovation, so every morning takes a long time to get to the core.

I got downtown in 10 minutes. So I sat in giant company's atrium and waited until the appropriate time to head over to reception.

How did it go? I'm not sure. They didn't ask me one behavioural interview question because they know that as a recruiter I'd give them the textbook response. Instead they say tell us about yourself...huh? They seemed to like me, communication flowed well. I don't think it went badly. I know they're seeing other people and said they'd back to me next week for either next steps or parting of ways.

So we'll see, it's officially out of my hands...that's a bit irritating isn't it.

As I always say, what will be will be.

So now it's back to regular job, finish off my last course and keep trucking.

Hugs!

Didn't have to wait long

Big company called at 4pm to book me for an interview on Friday....
I didn't have to wait long after all.
Send me positive vibes on Friday at 8am MST.

Hugs!

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Someone actually called

No not the boy from the paper - no word on that to report.
After sending out about 10 resumes I got a call today and it was from a really really really good company. I had a bit of a phone interview made the guy laugh, signed off saying that they'll get back to me on next steps in a few days....

Aagghhhh, as a recruiter I know that if they thought I was a dork they would have said "We'll keep your resume on file for future opportunities". If they don't call me back with serious next steps then this company will be in my poo poo book.

I want flex days and flexible benefits and stock options....dang it.

I was a bit surprised to hear from these guys (big big company) because I think I'm a wee wee wee little fish. Of course I need to shake that. I'm a super star and if you don't want me to work for you then it's your loss.

So now I wait...I hate waiting.

Hugs

A week full of Fridays

That's what it felt like anyway. Everday waking up to a feeling of wanting to stay in one's comfy bed and drink hot chocolate and watch chick flicks.

Crazy weather yesterday afternoon -all of a sudden heavy rain turned into hail turned into soft rain turned into sun turned into sleet and then went away. By the time I got home my hood was dry but a headache prevented me from mowing jungle lawn.

I've been sore for the last few days and I couldn't figure out why. I thought it might be the weather but then I realized I'm achy from yoga on Tuesday. All the muscles that are sore are the ones that are used for plank pose...oy vey.

Today the local paper printed a list of the top 10 bachelors in my fair city and my co-workers decided that I am perfect for one of them. They begged me to send an email, I turned to them and said "You do it". Off they ran to the nearest computer and now God knows what has been sent to this guy. Oh well, it's an adventure right?

I'm looking forward to planning some meals this weekend, I've got a couple in mind that should provide fun lunches. I'm also looking forward to sun so I can get outside and try this running thing again.

Have a fabulous weekend!

OMG it stopped raining

For 3 minutes, it's rained every single day so far (for June) except June 5th.
My lawn has never been so green.

Had a great yoga class the other night and got info on the summer and fall session. I'm so signing up. I think the yoga will be a great help when boot camp starts too.

I've been half heartedly researching gyms. My spa lady membership ends in September and I've been maybe 10 times. I'm not crazy about getting off the bus on the way home and then back on the bus. I definitely prefer something downtown near work but of course those gyms are much pricier. Of course I could go without a gym all together and just focus on home exercise. Which is probably what I'll do while I boot camp. Who knows maybe I'll sign up for more bootcamps...stranger things have happened.

Food has been interesting thanks to feeling blechy due to cramps. It's like I feel sorry for myself which of course is incredibly stupid. So now I've started a behaviour of bad eating...oy vey.

I have a new doctor...whewf! I can't get in for a physical until Jan. 20th. Now to get to goal so my first weigh in with this dude will be fantastic. So bad eating needs to be kicked to the curb.

I need to sign up for the next set of classes for my certificate and nothing I need is completely online. I'm heading back to the classroom...oh joy. Their all evening classes and some are stupid long 6pm to 11pm. After working all day I'd be asleep at my desk by 8. One that I need is 6-8:30 on Thursdays. I can do that.

So here's my schedule in September
Mon - Boot camp
Tue- Yoga
Wed - Boot camp
Thu- Class
Fri - Boot camp
Weekend - Out cold.

I'm actually looking forward to it.

This weekend is all about planning, I need to go through my clothes, clean out my pantry and finally establish a food plan and planned exercise.

Goal by December!

Down 1.4

Boy was I surprised, I had actually made a deal with myself that if I had stayed the same or lower I'd go to weigh in. If I was higher I was going to skip it....ya ya I know stupid reasoning. Well I wound up the same so I put on the rain gear and went to my meeting. I was shocked to see that loss, I was completely expecting a stay the same. I have no idea what I did but I'm going to try to repeat it.

My weekend was pretty much dedicated to studying for my compensation test. I'll write it when I get home tonight. Of course now I feel like I've forgotton everything.

I had one break on Saturday a part from my WW meeting. I went to the Underwear Affair run that raises money for cancer's below the waist. My friend H and her friend C were running, these girls are brave. It was pouring the whole time. I hung out with H's Mom and we waited for the girls to come back. Of course it stopped raining after they finished...murphy's law.

I really want to take part next year. I'm planning to run a 10K in September - Terry Fox Run so we'll see how that goes. Of course I have a year to train.

Tonight I have to write the test and meet up with my group for a different class project so no workouts tonight. Yoga tomorrow and I seriously need to head back to the gym.

I want to see another loss on Saturday....52.6lbs to go.

Hugs!

Rain, rain go away

The rain has finally started after looking like it was for most of the day. We're now going to have rain for 5 days...whoo hoo.

I had a rough day yesterday as snackapalooza reared it's ugly head, I did have a fantastic dinner of Money's mushroom burger on Superstore's super thin hamburger bun with tzatziki. It was yummy. I tried the Kashi granola bar in chocolate cherry. They have an interesting consistency, kind of fall apart as your eating it.

Today I didn't bring lunch and had thought of going to Subway. The thing is I can't stand subway, I'm bored with subway and couldn't do it. So what do I do....New York Fries....stupid.

Oh well I am looking forward to snackapalooza being over and this is my first week into 6 months. I will not be derailed or defeated. I just need to plan better.

After this weekend I'll have a bit more control over my schedule and I'm really looking forward to that.

Hugs!

Day 2

On the way home yesterday I stopped by Safeway and picked up some cherries and a lemon/garlic salad dressing made by Rene's....and Breyer's all natural vanilla ice cream (it was on sale).

I made an asperagus omelette with one egg and egg whites, tomatoe on the side with some salt/pepper and balsamic plus a bit of salsa. I grabbed the smallest bowl I own (pampered chef prepp bowl) and had a mini sundae....it's my weakness.

Strangely the scale showed a drop of 1.5lbs this morning. My co-worker said it's water and she's probably right but I do find it funny that I drank 2.5l of water and had a sundae.

I watched X-Weighted last night and the girl was from Calgary. At one point they showed her in a boot camp and I think it's the one I'm starting in August. Whoa..this will be intense.

Had All Bran Strawberry cereal this morning as I needed a break from All Bran sticks.
For lunch I made an awesome salad - lettuce, peppers, green onions, grape tomatoes, olives, tex mex cheese and ham. I've got strawberries and cherries with me as well.
The plan for dinner is a Money's veggie burger. A whole lot of veggies and fruit today.

Alright I'm off to my former doctor to pick up my file and I get to pay $25 for it. Whoo hoo.

Until tomorrow!

First step

So after my food filled birthday I made a promise to myself to be very very good for the next 3 days. Adding to the challenge is pms and the desire to snack during foodapalooza. I have not indulged and I have 5pts for supper. So everytime I even think of straying, I chant 5pts in my head.

Yoga was faster yesterday, we did sun salutation numerous times. I actually worked up a sweat this time. The extra challenge was there were ants in the hall, most had been swept out but there were a few strays that met the end of my yoga block.

After weeks of rain with a few days of sun in between, it actually looks nice today. So I think I'll head outside tonight for a walk/run workout.

I may swing by Safeway on the way home as I was totally inspired by a co-workers salad today. I've had stir fry for two days this week so maybe I should switch it up for tomorrow.

That's all for today my friends, have a groovy day!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yes it's my 36th birthday today, I'm cool with that because most people guess that I'm in my 20's. Amen for genetics people. It's funny actually my supervisor is turning 40 and you would think there was a huge age difference between us.

Big plans for tonight...my yoga class- it's the the 5th out of 6 weeks and I didn't want to miss it.

Of course on an occasion such as this I think back on what I've done with my life so far...
The Good:

Actually used my degree for something this year.
On track to getting my CHRP designation.
Have fantastic friends and family.

The Not So Good:
So so job.
Still no where near goal weight.

Well I'm working on the job thing and have a plan for the weight loss thing.

I'm following the theory behind X-Weighted . I've set myself a 6 month goal to lose 54lbs which will put me at 130lbs. I'm seriously heading into the unknown, anything less than 168 doesn't register in my head. Took all my measurements on June 1 and shall do that monthly.

I'm going to join Survivor Boot Camp in August and run a 10K in September. (Officially signed up for boot camp...oy vey)

So now I must train for the multiple hills, stairs, push up and sit ups of boot camp and the run.
Had a little scare this weekend as I though the knee issues were back, thankfully I was mistaken so I'm good to go.
Tonight 1.5 hrs of yoga, tomorrow cardio - I'm going to plan 2 days at a time for exercise as I've found that if I plan too far ahead all is lost.

I'm also going to bring the focus of this blog back to weight loss, life will always be a part of it as that will never go away.

I was up 2lbs at weigh in, admitting to tracking nothing since last Tuesday. I adored my weigh in lady as she said...It happens and the good thing is your hear today, it's not permanent and you'll have it off soon. I wanted to hug her.

It was also a wake up call for me as I need that accountability and focus.

Alas, the journey begins again....step one....

Hugs!

What the heck have I been up to...

No really..I haven't posted for a week and I have nothing to account for it.

Weigh in on Saturday was up 0.6, which I totally blame on the cold I had. After my coughing yoga class I got full fledged sick and should have bought stock in Kleenex.

I spent the weekend working on two papers. I got 87.5% on one, the second one I think is crap. I had to stay within 5 pages double spaced, 12pt font. That's like writing in Sharpie to me. I'm just praying for a B on that paper.

It rained for a solid week which did not inspire much activity.

I had a killer yoga class yesterday that I can feel today.

I also got a call from the clinic where I had my name on a waiting list for a doctor. I have a meet and greet with a doctor on June 23rd. I've never done that before. I've only had two doctors in my life. Is this like an interview? Can I lose 40lbs in 4 weeks?

I can't wait for the client event to be over. I never wanted to be in charge. It's tomorrow and I'm never going near this thing again.

Two people have quit in my office and apparently another person is changing roles, which seriously makes me question what the heck is going on. I've started a relaxed job hunt which may get more serious soon.

Alright that's all that's up with me.

Now that school has calmed down I'm ready to re-focus on weight loss related adventures.

Have a fabulous day!

Call me disruptive

Another fabulous yoga session yesterday with a wee bit of coughing thrown in. At the end during relaxation/savasana I was having a coughing fit. It was ridiculous, I couldn't stop and I felt so bad that I was disturbing these people. The wonderful instructor came up to me and made a bit of a bed of yoga blocks and a blanket so my chest was raised and that calmed the coughing.
After the session I told her I promise not to cough next week. She was so sweet, she said to let her know about this sort of thing and she could come up with modifications.

I also came to decision yesterday, if you note above I've removed the tracker for the half marathon. I will not be competing. My heart is just not in it. I don't want to walk another half marathon. I do really want to incorporate some running into my workouts. My knee issue awhile ago scared me a bit. I realized I'm not quite so indestructable that I always thought. I must listen to my body as I push it. I'm going to start with a 5K. My goal is by the end of the summer I will run a 5K race. I don't think I care for long distance races. I'm happy that I've done two half marathons and a marathon, and that's good enough for me. Who knows what the future will bring but for the moment it's not in the cards.

I'm still going to pick up my race pack as I don't get any money back. I paid for that t-shirt dang it. I will definitely still go and cheer on my friends as they run the half marathon. I will happily play race support for them.

Another lesson learned today. If it's got anything to do with Wii, pre buy it. I foolishly thought I could stroll into my Walmart today and pick up a wii fit. Stupid, stupid, stupid - they are sold out across the city. Now I must wait until the next shipment comes in. Oh well, probably for the best as I really need to work on my portion of a group project tonight.

Tracking is still going very well and I'm taking that day by day.

That's all for today then, have a groovy day!

Hugs!

Tuesday = Monday

I love long weekends, but I much prefer having the Friday off than the Monday. Why? Because Tuesday winds up being total craziness.

So far I've had an candidate think I'm ripping off her paycheque. After explaining no I'm paying you what the company wants to pay you. The company must also pay for your burdens (i.e taxes and employment insurance), a payroll fee (to accounting to process cheques) and a fee to us (so I get paid). She then apologized for taking it out on me and thanked me for my professionalism.

Then our office manager let me know her last day is Friday, so I'm now in charge of our client event on May 29th. I don't want it, I have so far been asked 101 questions from the person who organized it last year (who was kicked off this event this year because she drives everyone crazy).

My other colleague is revamping her resume and has asked for my help. I make a suggestion and she says "No, I like it that way". That's totally cool with me, but why did you ask for my help then?

I found myself totally hungry at 10:20am. I had all bran with a banana for breakfast - I'm thinking I need to add some protein. Luckily I had some raw almonds in my desk so that took the edge off without having to walk into a convenience store. I have diligently tracked the weekend and that continues today. Yesterday I walked to the mall and back plus mowed the jungle lawn. Tonight is 1.5 hours of yoga. Tomorrow I'm picking up Wii Fit.

Lunch today is a fabulous salad with sundried turkey and bit of cheese. Activia yogurt and a 2pt coffee crips round out the snacks. Supper has to be light due to yoga, so I'm thinking a toasted WW english muffin with some peanut butter. That or a quick omelette with asperagus.

I have 8pts left for supper.

After reading H-Woman's blog which led me to a posting on Shirl's blog, I'm intrigued by Calorie King, or more specifically paying attention to calories as opposed to points. I've often had better success when I've eaten over my points allowance but that's a tricky game. I may look into that more closesly.

It's supposed to rain solidly for the next week, next nice day is Sunday. So the Wii Fit may come in handy.

Alright off to eat my salad. Have a groovy day!

Stayed the same...whew!

I was overjoyed to see that I stayed exactly the same at weigh in. Quite frankly for the past two weeks my tracking sucked, thank goodness for exercise is all I can say.

I have two weeks left in this Spring Challenge and I've got 4.8 pounds to lose to hit my goal. I completely believe I can do that in two weeks. My plan is to go back to basics. Week one so to speak. I'm tracking every bite. lick and sip. The focus is more on core type of foods but following flex. The goal for Saturday is to get into the 170s. I need about 2.6lbs for that to happen and I know I can do it.

I was watching X-Weighted the other day and a little light bulb went off in my head. I've completely forgotton the girls name but she's the one who competed in roller derby. She had been chubby all her life and at the 3 month check point she hit a weight that she hadn't been since high school and that she was heading into unchartered territory from now on.

In my entire WW history I once briefly crossed into the 160's . It was 168 and then it all went to south and I've been climbing my way back. I too have been chubby all my life so every time I cross into a new number i.e. 170, 160 it's like I have a mini freak out. No more I embrace the unknown. The only thing that has held me back is me. Me, myself and I are now on the same page. Let the games begin.

My leader even mentioned once again....Don't make WW your favourite charity.

I've set myself a little summer goal, starting now...lose 30lbs by September 1. The tracker is updated and off I go.

Have a fabulous long weekend to all the Canadians, play safe.

Hugs!

It's Friday, it's 30 degrees and I'm stuck inside

It's hot out there, that's 30 degrees celsius by the way. I am not fond of hot weather, and when the UV index is high (at an 8 today) that just freaks me out. Yesterday I saw some pink people running around.

After my skin cancer scare about 5 years ago I've been relatively diligent about protecting myself. I even keep a bottle of sunscreen in my desk. I do like summer but not crazy hot. If it stayed at 20 degrees I'd be very happy.

I need to be the picture of time management this coming weekend and week. The long weekend will have a chunk of time dedicated to school as I have 3 projects due on the 25th. My Dad is coming in that weekend with plants, alas I don't want to leave everything for the 25th. I had hoped to go see Iron Man but I don't think that's in the cards between textbooks and prepping flower beds.

Our restructuring plan was rolled out at work and I'm relatively unaffected, whew! It will interesting to see how this all rolls out in the future.

I was totally shocked that Whitney won ANTM, not that I didn't think she could do it but the look on her face while waiting for the results looked like she thought she had lost.

I'm kind of looking forward to the slew of summer reality show coming.

Tomorrow I face my fears and go to WI. I didn't tell you all but I skipped last week to study. I have not been so good with the tracking but I'm hell bent on going tomorrow. It's time to face the scale and get my act together.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun long weekend

I'm a yogini?

Yoga class was great yesterday. I actually knew most of the poses with the exception of dolphin (not sure how I feel about dolphin) and I've reaffirmed my general dislike for plank.

I was happy to see other non-skinny people there. It's a thing I have, I hate to workout with skinny people and be singled out as the bigger girl. Average age was mid 40 so I think I was one of the youngest people there.

It's bizarre I hadn't been in that community hall since girl guides so that's about the age of 12. It's a nice hall, the floors were wood and the wooden ceiling braces were exposed. I brought two mats with me which worked out perfect.

The instructor is super nice, so far every yoga teacher I've encountered has this softness of spirit thing going on or perhaps a better way of phrasing that is a peacefull ambiance.

I ran into my next door neighbour (who has a dog I adore). They're a really nice family, I don't run into them often just when shovelling snow or mowing the lawn. She has been going to these classes since they started in the community. On the walk home she told me that I must have done yoga before and she could tell I've practiced it. Which I thought was funny because I haven't consistently practiced yoga in a long time. I must have good muscle memory. I'm definitely pumped about doing more and encorporating it into my daily routine.

As I stood in mountain pose for awhile I did come to the conclusion that I need to embrace a more cleaning eating attitude and better prepare on the weekend for the week ahead. I'm happy it's a long weekend coming up as this will give me more time to be sorted. I'm not going whole hog and tossing food out that I have now but I'll think hard on what I replace it with that's for sure.

I've noticed a lot of talk on the blogs about how some started out focused on weightloss and gone off track. I too sometimes feel I'm off track but really getting healthy encorporates everything in your life. Sometimes it's just not the time to talk about food or exercise and one must get out what's going on around that.

The beauty of the blog is that it's an open forum. It's your blog, you can talk about whatever you want. Some will comment and some will not. I don't consider this to be a popularity contest.

It's an avenue to sorting things out with aid of others. I constantly come up with plans I'm going to do and then don't but the important thing is I keep coming back with new plans. The trick is to not give up. A new one is on the horizon.

We got talking about boot camp today and a little research showed they're pricey. Why can't I do my own boot camp? Map out a workout plan and post something disgustingly motivational on the wall so that when I don't feel like it I do it anyway. There's loads of info out there ( I own a lot of it).

I'm kind of excited actually, I feel a bit renewed.

Hugs!!!

I have surfaced

After a weekend of having my nose in books and reading 7 chapters, 5 of them twice. I surfaced on Saturday for a dental cleaning and groceries. I surfaced on Sunday for a jaunt to the mall to pick up my new Hush Puppy shoes.

Yesterday was work and go home and write the compensation test. Now all I need to do is wait for the result, but life does not stop my friends. I have two assignments due on the 25th so work must be done.

Tonight I go to my first yoga class at the community hall. I haven't done yoga in ages. How is it you can make something a routine and then you get derailed for a minute and it takes forever to get back on track.

Speaking of off track, my food has been totally awful for the past few days. Combination of stress over the test and being out of it has been bad. Now I all I want is vegetables. I feel fat. You know when you just feel like it's not right, that is how I feel.

I know I'm the only one who can change it so it's time to create some new habits and shake myself out of this rut.

The journey goes on....

Stress and all it's various forms

"I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now"
Edna Mode - The Incredibles

My life has felt very topsy turvy lately. I wish I had the nonchalance of Edna. Let me break it down.

Work:

Two us covering for two others who are on vacation, a wee bit crazy.

Yesterdays staff meeting resulted in being told that we're not making as much as we're supposed to and that there will be a re-organization that has been approved but things still need to be figured out before anything happens and oh yeah - no lay offs ...yet. Wow what a downer, the whole room went quiet.

What absolutely kills me is why discuss plans that aren't ready to be rolled out. All that creates is people updating their resumes.

School:

I'm getting a bit freaked out about this weekends test and making an intelligent sounding moderator questions. I'll get it done, that is not the worry.

I have a theory about stress. I consider our lives to be in spheres i.e work sphere, home sphere, school sphere. When stress is one sphere - no worries it can be handled. When stress is in two spheres - now it's getting a bit crazy. When stress is in three tiers - hide under a blanket.

Home:

I have had a hard week food wise. Unhealthy choices are easy to make even though I know better. It's like I'm in a funk. The funk needs to be shaken out.

The Wii came today so perhaps that will introduce some fun and distraction into my life for now.

The important thing to remember is this is just a blip, a blib that takes all your attention now but it will go away in time. Just roll with it.
Hugs!

Half way through

First of all I totally messed up the name of the actor in The Tudors. It's the same guy in the Hugo Boss ads when they're in the boxing ring.

Anyway I finally watched the first episode in it's entirety and I'm offically into it.

I need to shake up my food. I'm always talking about food plans but I find them really challenging. Anything that's printed or posted is not geared at an individual. I think I need to take the "Fixing Dinner" concept and apply to me. Where you figure out your weekly meal plan including leftovers from that week or pre-prepping on the weekend. I often find myself eating the same thing over and over.

I have a crazy weekend ahead school wise but I'm going to take time all this week so the weekend isn't a crazy chapter fest. Somewhere in there I will finally try to get a meal plan that works.

Really looking forward to yoga starting on Tuesday. Yet another thing I have to factor into my increasingly crazy life. Well one class ends at the beginning of June and then the other one ends at the end of June. By July I'll be twiddiling my thumbs :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

Embracing The Tudors

When I saw the promos for The Tudors on the good old CBC I was intrigued but I never managed to catch this show. I do think Jonathon Rhys Davies is totally delicious. I downloaded the first season and plunked it on my ipod. I started watching it at the bus stop this morning and I was hooked from the opening montage.

The other day I picked up the book "The Other Boleyn" and I can't put it down. I'm intrigued and I've already attached all the other books on this topic by Phillipa Gregory on my amazon wish list. I didn't hear fantastic things about the movie but I'll wait until it's rentable.

Lately it seems that I'm in to historical dramas. I loved ROME, rented all the episodes last summer. I'll probably wind up doing the same for The Tudors to see it on a bigger screen.

Tonight I need to get myself sorted food wise. This weekend ran away from me. I was busy Saturday and Sunday and never got around to making work lunch so I bought today.

I'm going to make some sort of chicken/pork burger and roasted veggies. All inspired by an episode of Rachael Ray that I caught on my day off Friday. Well she had the roasted veggie part. I came up with the chicken/pork combo on my own. I failed to get this done on the weekend because I cleaned my oven - which took longer than I thought. I also broke the light in the oven while cleaning which sparked the discovery of what kind of light bulb do I need for an oven.

I figured that out and I'll road test the oven tonight.

I need to have my food sorted as so far this afternoon I've been obsessed with chocolate. Yes it's that time of the month for "Snackapalooza". My plan is to have flavourful low point things that keep me satisfied and not in search of snacks. Protein will play an important role here. Activity must also be a priority this week and instead of calling it exercise I'm calling it stress relief.

On Friday I was stressed. I found out that we were too late to submit our registration forms for the Mother's Day walk and run under the corporate challenge. Our leader (in another department) failed to tell us when the date was and didn't bother telling us that he had to beg to get his groups in. I was not happy as I felt I had let down my group. So I walked and forgot to put my heart rate monitor on ( I think I was truckin'). By the time I was done I felt better.
I really feel that exercise can shake you out of any mood that's bringing you down. Which really makes me wonder why I have such a hard time making it consistent.
Alas that is all I have for today. I hope your weekend was restfull and your week goes quickly :)

Bah!

I don't know what to think of yesterday, it was such a day of highs and lows that I'm not sure who won.

First of all got home to find my phone and internet connection completely dead. Pulled out the cell and phoned Telus. Apparently a line has been cut somewhere in my area. Great! When will that be fixed - they don't know. As of this morning still no land line. Of course I wanted to do online banking last night and instead had to do it at work today.

I also got a letter from my doctor. She's closing her practice. Crap! It's almost impossible to find a family doctor in Calgary. I arranged to get my file so I can transfer it to a new doctor (if and when I find one) and I get to pay $25 for it because I've been with this doctor for 8 years plus - my file is bigger. I get the feeling I'll be booking yearly physicals at walk in clinics and trudging my file around. I called one of my co-workers doctors but they're not accepting new patients (big surprise..not), they referred me to another clinic. I called there but they're not taking new patients either however there's a waiting list for a new doctor starting in June. Considering I don't need a physical until August that may work out.

I finally found a Wii at BestBuy online. So that was awesome, except they wanted to verify by phone (my home phone) so this morning I got to explain why it was impossible for me to verify from home phone as it's dead. Happily it's now on it's way.

Dad arrives today so he can see his eye doctor for the 6 month check up tomorrow. So yay! to a home cooked meal when I get home today.

I was supposed to moderate a question on the discussion board for my business management class next week. I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing. I haven't finished the chapters for this week let alone think of anything to ask about for next week. Some guy in my class needs to switch his week, he's the week after me so I offered to trade. I'd just like to see an example of what they're expecting before I toss myself in.

This weekend will be all about textbooks. I think I'm going to take myself to a coffee shop and read there. I find at home there are tons of distractions. A moccachino and out of the house may be a good thing.

My 2nd year anniversary of this blog was March 9th and I completely missed it. I wanted to thank all of you who have stopped by and read and/or posted. Blogging is such a weird world of establishing friendships with people you will probably never meet in person. I'm happy to know you through your words and commentary.

Until later...have a good one

In the throws of self sabotage

Why is it that one can be completely focused and then whammo it all falls apart. I was super tracking girl and for the past few days I track after the fact. I'm not planning, I'm not thinking it through. I'm just sort of waffling.

The first step is realizing where you've gone wrong so that's a good thing. I noticed the same thing happening with my co-workers in the fitness challenge. Everyone was coasting, so I changed things up again now it's back to individuals - no more groups. I think everyone has to be individually responsible for their actions so tada it begins.

I was watching the news this morning and saw a Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie Bertinelli, this was a new commercial. So I wondered what happened to Queen Latifah, wasn't she the new Jenny girl. I had thought the other day that shouldn't be seeing a new "progress" commercial with Queen L? I wonder if she's dropped out.

I signed up for a yoga class in my community hall starting May 13, $60 for 6 weeks - quite the deal me thinks.

Random thoughts done for the day...take a minute today to appreciate yourself.
Hugs!

OMG it looks so nice outside

Apparently it is 21 degrees right now, as I sit at my desk and look out the window...it's just not right I tell you.

I can't believe I haven't been here since Wednesday. All that I've been up to is work and school.

Had an awesome weekend went to Costco and Superstore with H and Mom. Bought giant containers of veggies that must be eaten at Costco. Navigated an unfamiliar Superstore that seemed twice as big as the one in my hood. Then went to the Hyatt for nachos and burgers...oh were they good.

Tonight is dinner at a restaurant called Aida's that is supposed to have awesome falafels. I love falafels.

My papa is coming in on Thursday for his eye exam so cleaning the house is on the agenda plus now my two courses are going full force so reading excessively boring textbooks are also on the agenda. Fun I tell you.

Hope all is well with you and hopefully I'll have more entertaining things to post

Finding ones way

I got my results for my first compensation test...I did crappy and I mean crappy. Thankfully it's worth 20% of the total mark. So two more tests worth 25% and one group project to go. I found other people on the discussion board who had issues. The one really good thing is I didn't console myself with a chocolate bar. Of course from now on I must be perfect.

While I'm sad the Flames lost last night, I'm proud of their efforts. No one died or lived based on the results and now I look forward to their next season. So now thanks to my complicated who to root for formula (highest number of Canadians on the team). I now find myself rooting for the Sharks (13 Canadians versus 11 on the Stars), the Penguins (11 vs. 9 on the Rangers), the Avalanche (14 vs 9 on the Red Wings) and I'm going with the Flyers (tied with the Canadiens). Yes I know, why aren't I rooting for the only Canadian team remaining. To be honest after the media coverage of the fans reaction to round 1, I fear what might happen after round 2. I realize that the majority of Montreal fans are respectful citizens who don't support that type of behaviour by any means. We're a long way from the final series so things may change.

Interesting discussion in the office today about finding what works for you in terms of weight loss. I've got one colleague doing a cleanse right now. Another of my colleague needs motivation. She needs a workout buddy to get her out the door and finds herself making the same food over and over. Our manager is doing Jenny Craig and we've seen some of the food she's brought in. Now this works perfectly for the manager. She hates to cook and likes easy. The total key to being successful is finding what works for you, that could be a whole lot of trial and error but never give up.

I'm heading to Safeway on the way home to get something for lunch for the next two days. My buying lunch for the past 3 has to stop. I need some better dinner options as well, yesterday was cereal. It's going to be a very precise bigger grocery shop this weekend. I find myself slipping into a laissez faire kind of attitude and I need some options. So Friday night will be dedicated to meal planning my friends.

Alright so that's it for today - go forth and find what works for you - when you do it will be like magic :)

Going to miss BL

My ritual for Tuesday night has been Biggest Loser for so long now that I feel a little disppointed that it's done. Before long a new season will emerge and the Australian one is still running on Slice TV so I'll get a bit of a fix.

Yesterday my mission was to wash dishes (which I did) and I watched the new Gossip Girl, normally I pvr it and watch it on the weekend but I couldn't resist.

Food has been hard this week. My plan for lunch fell through as it didn't turn out and I have this massive negative reaction to Subway. Which just goes on to prove it's almost impossible to eat healthy in a food court. Workouts have been hard as I had really enjoyed getting outside and now the sidewalks are treacherous. I should vacuum my basement tonight so I can workout there.

I already have access to the class that starts on Monday and I can tell already that I'm going to have to be mega organized.

Tonight my beloved Calgary Flames play San Jose in game 7, these 8pm starts are killing me as going to bed at 11pm is a wee too late for a work night. Sometimes it's just easier not to watch and then the moment the news comes on the radio in the morning I'll know who won. We'll see it's so hard to walk away from a good game.

Determination won out

I live in a weird city, two days ago it was +22, today -21 with 20cm of snow. Yeah, that's what I woke up to. In the last 24 hours I've shovelled my sidewalk 3 times and it's felt like lifting weights. This snow is seriously slurpee ish. This more snow than we got all winter, at least everything should be green when it melts. Plus it's only forecasted to snow for another 3 days..pushaw..we can take it.

So as I gazed out my living room window this morning, knowing that it has been snowing since late morning Friday and the windchill was -21, I seriously considered skipping my WW meeting. That thought faded quickly as I told myself that snow was not going to stop me. I've gone to weigh in colder weather so I sucked it up, bundled up and headed out the door. I was down a pound (home scale said down half a pound) and I think the trudging through snow burned off some calories on the way there. It's about a 12 block walk and there were snow drifts everywhere, some people had shovelled already but some parts were half a foot of snow.

I was impressed by the turnout at the meeting, I didn't stop for my Tim Horton coffee before hand as I normally do as I thought I didn't have time. Of course I get there and realize Duh! I so had time but I wasn't going out again. The blowing snow felt like ice particles.

When I left the meeting I contemplated getting groceries but I was hungry, tired and the snow was blowing worse so I trudged home again. I have to go tomorrow as there's a birthday in the office on Monday and she's requested the incredibly decadent white chocolate strawberry cheesecake. (I've posted the picture of this cake before).

I've been studying for my first test in my compensation class. The test is on the first 4 chapters of the text. When I read these chapters the first go around I think half the info flew out of head. So I finshed Ch 4 and went back and re-read 1-3. Tomorrow I'll re-read 4 and then attempt the test 40 questions in 30 minutes.

I finally got my 4 month wall dry erase calender updated. I used this all through University (many years ago) to track work and classes well it's being dusted off to track this class, the next class that starts on the 28th and workouts.

The fitness challenge of the Spring Challenge is to come up with 10 motivational phrases and post them around your house. I'll work on this after the test and definitely share them with all of you.

Here are some our Challenge creator came up with:

1. Each day is a new day. It doesn't matter how hard you worked yesterday or how hard you didn't work... you have to pick it back up and keep going.
2. Don't get overwhelmed by the amount of weight you need to lose. Take it one day at a time, one pound at a time.
3. Fit Feels Good!
4. I can do this!
5. Remember who is the most important person in your Life!
6. You are worth the effort!
7. It is never to late to take charge of your life!
8. Believe in yourself!
9. Never give up on the thought of a 'thin you'!
10. You are important enough to 'fit it in'!

Believe my friends!

Snow globe day

The lovely forecast for my city is snow, snow and more snow. Right now as I look out the window it seems like I'm in a snow globe. I don't mind snow really, plus it will make everything green when it's done. If you're not in it then it's quite pretty actually.

So I got this crock pot via airmiles and it came yesterday. This weekend I'm going to try it. I'm not sure what to start with. I'm dying to make a roast but maybe I'll start with chili. As it sat in my office yesterday it got plenty of oohs and ahhs. I've wanted one forever and thought I never use my airmiles for flights (always get them on sale) so I'll use them for stuff.

I for sure would rather be at home tinkering with this thing than contemplating the trip home. It's dead quiet today too. My guess is a lot of people stayed home today.

Wednesay and Thursday I went for 6k walks as the weather was gorgeous. Tonight I'll dust off a hip hop abs and shimmy in my living room. Weigh in is tomorrow and I'm fairly positive I'll see a loss. I'm so used to certain consistencies. As I mentioned before my new scale reads differently than the old one. The old one was always about a 1.5 lbs above the one at weigh in. Last week the weigh in scale was 0.4 above my new scale. Mind you last weekend my Dad drove me to weigh in and I normally walk so not all behaviours were the same.

I'm such a ritual weigh in person. Get up at the same time every Saturday, wear the same thing, leave the same time. I'm trying to keep all the variables the same.

I have so much studying to do this weekend as I have my first test in my compensation class no later than Monday. Apparently it's 40 mulitiple questions to be answered in 30minutes..eek!

A friend of mine was to meet me for lunch today but she cancelled. Not due to the weather, she just bought a nintendo Wii this morning and wanted to stay home an play it. I'm so intrigued by this thing. Everyone I know who has one absolutely loves it. I'm intrigued about the Wii Fitness I've been hearing about. I need to learn more about it though.

Bah, I despise slow days where it seems to take triple the energy to get anything constructive done.
Have a groovy day!

Whoo hoo!

I'm so happy Bernie won the at home challenge and a woman won the Biggest Loser title. I was cheering in my living room. I always loved Bernie's attitude and sense of humour. I was a bit concerned when Roger weighed in but way to go Ali.

Amanda and I have the same starting weight, I wish they said how tall they were. She looked fabulous at her 145. This gave me a wee glimpse of what I may look like at goal. Very inspirational I must say.

My company is taking part in the corporate challenge for the first time ever and we've been encouraged to take part in the Mother's Day walk and run. Well our sister company laid down a challenge that they had more people taking part. That got my knicker's in a twist so I rallyed my group and got one more than sister company. I only had to bribe one person. My group signed up for the 5K walk. We're focusing on fun not crazy training.

I remember when the corporate challenge had fun events like chair racing, now it seems like a mini olympics. It's all in good fun any way.

Alright that's all I have for today, have a groovy day.

So excited!

For the season finale of Biggest Loser tonight....I know I want a girl to win, but I'm kind of rooting for Kelly over Ali. I'm a sucker for the underdog. I'm a little concerned over how much more weight Ali and Mark can lose - they both looked pretty svelte last week. I'm truly impressed that Ali lost most of her weight at home - proving my friends that it can be done. What I'm truly looking forward to is all the transformations. It's so amazing to see their before and afters.

I have to swing by Safeway on the way home to get more coffee for my Dad and thought about picking up a lean cuisine for supper so I can start watching BL at 6pm on time shifting. There's game 4 tonight starting at 8pm - Go Flames Go!

On the tv front, thanks to the live feed comment people I now only watch the wednesday Big Brother as I can't be bothered when I already know who's on the final chopping block.

So eating last night was a bit of a disaster, so far this week I have one disaster day, one normal day, one disaster day...the rest of the week must be OP. I want to see a loss on Saturday. Yesterday I went to Safeway to get the Van Houtte discount coffee for my dad and picked up the El molino chips (whole grain with mega fibre) - this inspired nachos for supper with too much cheese. Melted cheese is a weakness - I admit it.

Workouts must resume tomorrow plus I need to vacuum the basement, egads isn't funny how things just add up. Plus I have my first test for my compensation class this weekend and need to review the material. I can write it on Sunday so that gives me some time.

My business managment class starts on the 28th. I need to become a scheduling master between 2 online classes, full time work and exercising. I know it can be done.

Alright folks, looking forward to reading all your thoughts on BL tomorrow.

Have a groovy day!!!!

4 Seasons - One day

First of all let me make clear I don't think I need to lose 81lbs...0% body fat is not the goal at all and besides I like my curves.

I skipped the gym on Sunday in favour of walking outside. It was a beautiful day at +23. Today I've already seen a bit of snow and apparently rain is on it's way. Spring always brings bizarre weather.

I had a major accomplishment this weekend, I managed to hook up the dvd player to my downstairs tv. I failed to notice in the first attempt that I needed the cord from the vcr to hook up the box. Tada now I have workout space in my basement.

I'm super excited about the Biggest Loser finale, the transformations are always so amazing. I was in a bookstore at lunch and checked out the new book of success stories. If you've followed the show, I don't think it's telling you anything new.

Alright that's it for today...Happy Monday!

Whoa, slow down

So I was up 0.8 today, I'm okay with that - it could have been up 2lbs due to crazy PMS snackapalooza week. So 0.8 is actually a victory.

I tried out all the features on the new WW scale sitting in my bathroom. Today I programmed myself in so my weight, bmi, pounds of fat and percentage of fat are now in the little computer chip. Holy, did I almost have a heart attack when 81.1 flashed on the thing. I thought (for a moment) that this was my percentage of fat - OMG I'm blubber! No, this was pounds of fat...so out of the 181.2 of total weight apparently 81.1 is fat. That's a bit freaky, I need to do more research on what all these numbers mean and take in consideration it's the platform in my bathroom telling me all this. The weird thing is at weigh in I weighed 181.6. I'm not sure where the mysterious extra 0.4 came from, but the weeks ahead will show some comparable data.

My dad finally made it into the city today, which is good because according to the weather network next weekend will be snow.

I tried on clothes today, I hate trying on clothes. Before I went I watched an episode of Tim Gunn's style guide. (We Canadians finally have access to this.)I realized that no matter what size we are, we're never happy are we? As I stood in the dressing room looking at myself and thinking "Oh got a work on this, this ,this and this", for a moment I tried to think back to my starting weight and remember what I felt like trying on clothes then...I couldn't.

What I did realize is that my fire is lit, I'm more hell bent on this quest than ever before so what I see now is only for now.

So my friend's daughter's school is having a fundraiser via magazine subscriptions. You get a really good deal on magazines and the school gets a percentage. So I got Shape, Fitness, Yoga Journal and Runnner's World...how funny am I?

Oh!!!! I got the Dyson on Friday, lugged the thing home on the bus and tried it that night. OMG this thing is amazing. Is it possible to fall in love with a vacuum cleaner. It was disgusting how much gunk came out of the carpet. Probably 6 times what my normal vacuum would have done. I want to vacuum again tomorrow...yes I'm pathetic...but clean :)

Alright my friends that's all I can think of today.

Tomorrow I'll report on the gym visit with the books on strength training and whatever else pops into my head between now and then.

Have a groovy weekend!!!

Wicked Weather

It took me an extra 45min to get to work today due to wicked snow. The snowflakes were coming down in clumps and it's super wet snow so it stuck to you. My bus crawled downtown, but hey everyone got to where they needed to be safe and sound.

I'm quite proud of myself today, last night when I got home I figured out my new fancy WW scale and finally I just said...GO! It was great, I had a great pace going and good tunes in my ear. According to my Forerunner 201 I burned 455 calories and according to my Mio I burned 630 calories. Hmm....

The new scale measures to the .1, you have to stand perfectly for it to read. If you've got too much weight on the right or left it tells you. I very curious to see what the differance is between this one and the one's at weigh in. My other scale was about 1-1.5 pds heavier.

I had a pretty decadent lunch today, with all the snow globe snow I had serious craving for Taco Time. I can fit it into my day it just means a super low point supper. Yesterday with the pot luck I wasn't hungry until 8:30pm so just had a bit of chocolate milk after my walk.

So now it's water, water for me.

Have a groovy day everybody!

Whoo Hooo!

This is what I yelled in my living room last night when the two remaining women on Biggest Loser beat the two boys. OMG, I don't know what they did in a week to lose over 10lbs each. So now America votes between Roger and Mark for the final spot in the final 3.

Now if America wants a woman to win I think they should vote Mark in as he's pretty much lost most of the weight. If they vote Roger back in...well it should be interesting. I think Ali is pretty close to being done so I'm now cheering on Kelly. I've always been partial to the black team :)

The yelling at work was not related to the weigh in :) More two people who know better acting like 2 year olds. We shall wait and see what happens with this.

Potluck today! I've been seeing the food roll in and I'm very happy I had a low point breakfast. I have planned this potluck into my day.

I got my new WW scale today, I'm so excited to take it home tonight. My old one will now live at work for the Fitness Challenge workouts. The new one measure body fat and hydration. I'm intrigued as to what it will say.

These are the musings for this morning, I may be back later.

Have a great day!

Biggest Loser Tonight!

Alright so I forgot to make my potluck contribution yesterday and absolutely have to do it this evening. Which probably means straight when I get home so it has time to cool so I can cut it.

I'm not sure who I want to win Biggest Loser. I'm not crazy about Ali and I'm tired of boys winning. However, Kelly's blah attitude isn't winning me over either. I had really hoped Bernie would win, maybe he'll win the home version. The interesting thing will be which two fall below the line tonight, as America will vote which one makes the final 3.

Snackapalooza has kicked in today but thus far I have resisted and will continue to resist. I just keep chanting 179 in my head as that's what I'd like to see on the scale on Saturday.

Apart from that not much to report today.

Serious drama in the office today resulting in yelling, it was tense there for awhile but all is calm now.

Talk to y'all tomorrow :)

Should have listened

I was talking to H around lunch time and she said you should go out for a walk, I was planning on going for a walk tonight. Now there's some bizarre snow/rain happening. Oh well there's still 2hrs before I'm done so plenty of time for the weather to co-operate.

If for some reason outside is not an option, then I'll do a dvd.

I need to make my pot luck contribution this evening as I do want to go to the gym on Tuesday. I was torn about Tuesday due to Biggest Loser so I'm dvring the 6pm one so I can watch it before bed.

For pot luck I'm making magic bars the Eagle Brand recipe. It takes no time at all and everyone likes it. The pot luck is on Wednesday, I will definitely plan a lower pt breakfast and supper to accomodate that.

The first weigh in for my group fitness challenge is tomorrow and already people are telling me excuses. I keep telling them to not worry about it. If you're up then you'll be inspired to do better next time. I actually had a suggestion to do weekly weigh ins, now I do this anyway with WW so I'm not opposed. I did find it interesting that one said she thinks it will keep her more accountable. I would have to agree.

I'm eagerly awaiting the results my meetings Spring Challenge 2nd week results. It's week 3 and I'm half way to my goal of losing 8lbs, I might have to create a new one...knock on wood.

This weekend was a bit off food wise and I've used up all my flex points so for the rest of week activity will be a focus. I have 9pts for supper just within my base points so I won't have a problem sticking to that whatsoever.

I'm being very diligent tracking and so far no snackapalooza attacks, mind you the week is young.

The trick is take it day by day.

Have a groovy day!

Journey back to the gym

I went to the gym today. I actually walked there and back. According my Mio I did an hour and a half worth of exercise today (I burned 160cal just from house to the gym). At the gym I did bit of lower body weights to figure out what bugged my knee and what didn't. I considered other weight machines but they all confused me a bit.

I've been reading this new book called New Rules of Lifting for Women and in it the author mentions that weight machines are not necessarily the best way to go as they don't reflect natural movement. Don't quote me but for example doing a free weight exercise will use more muscles then doing a move on a weight machine. I would have to say I agree.

I was watching some of the women use these machines and honestly after my dabble back into it (it's been a long time that I've used these machines) I think I get a more thorough weight workout with my Jari Love - Ripped dvds. So on Tuesday when I head back to the gym I'll take my Biggest Loser workout book that uses mostly free weights with me and give that a go. If I'm doing weight training at home it will be back to Jari.

I also lasted 10min on the devil spawn machine (elliptical trainer). I have friends who say this machine replicates natural movement, I totally disagree - I don't move like that naturally. The trainer dude on X-Weighted doesn't like it either. Plus it bugged my knee, so I moved on the hamster wheel (treadmill) and did an additional 20min on that at a good clip of 3.8 and that didn't bug my knee at all.

I tried the calories burned function on my Mio and according to that in the 1hr and 30min which included walking to and from, elliptical, weights and treadmill I burned 800 calories. I had a pretty good heart rate going and I checked it often to make sure the Mio was reading correctly. Now I'm not sure how accurate that thing is. Mio claims it's accurate.

My plan for this week is to do just cardio tomorrow, go for a walk and dig out my garmin. Then Tues and Thurs will be gym. Wed just cardio. Friday off as I find if I workout the day before weigh in the results are goofy.

This is also the week before TOM which I lovingly refer to as Snackapalooza week. I will keep careful eye on that. I've managed to lose during this week before and the trick is to keep up the water.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Down 0.8

When I first saw the down 0.8 for a brief moment I was disappointed. Then I realized that's 4lbs in 2 weeks - am I an idiot? That's awesome! That's just under a 1lb. I have absolutely no reason to complain.

There were quite a few people in the challenge who had gains this week. Mostly due to increased exercise. So they'll most likely see losses next week.

Hmm, but it made we think to be careful with my plans to increase exercise this week. I must pay special attention to nutrition and fluid. Oh and I think I figured out what's wrong with my knee. Looks like I'll have to focus on building muscle around the knee, working on quads and hips. Avoiding full squats and excessive stairs. Before I go the gym tomorrow I'll do some research with the weight training books I have and flag specific exercises to do.

By the way...the Dyson is mine. I started to have some reservations yesterday as I found some negative feedback on this vacuum, however most had positive and many said the positive outweighed the negative. I'm thankful I don't have berber carpets -apparently Dyson is a bit too strong for those.

For the 2nd week in a row my Dad has not come to the city because he has a shwack of snow. I'd much prefer him to be safe so we'll try again next weekend.

For my work fitness challenge I'm adding another level to it starting Monday. I'm getting them all to write down what they eat. No tracking calories, just write it down. Happily they seem excited about this. I been watching some of them over the week and I've noticed a definitive need for snacks at about 3pm, so it will be interesting to see if they notice this themselves.

Alright then, I think that's all for today.

Have a great weekend!

I hope I win

Alright so in reference to that Dyson vacuum cleaner obsession on Ebay. I'm bidding on one. The canister version as I think the attachments are better. I have a stand up Bissel right now and I think I prefer canister types for ease of use with attachments. Plus it's lighter, some of those things are heavy. Oh please it's a Dyson, I haven't read one bad review...not one. I have researched my friends.

So I've calculated the absolutely maximum I would pay for this thing including shipping (the shipping was super decent) and now I wait. I should know about 11pm my time.

I find it funny that Ebay refers to winning, is it winning? It really comes down to how much you'll pay. It's dangerous to get caught up in the bidding as there is a really good chance you'll spend too much. So now as I check in occasionally to see if I'm still the leader. I know that if it's meant to be it will be mine, if not then there will be another.

The funky scale shipped today so I should have that in my hot little hands soon.

All the interviews I had scheduled for today have rescheduled for Monday. So I'm trying to focus on what I need to do. Ads must be written, systems must be updated...yet I find myself counting down to lunch. Oy vey, it's going to be a long day.

Food wise I was perfection yesterday, so now it will be repeated. There are donuts at 2pm, I have already vowed no donuts for me. I have a date with a scale tomorrow.

Alright so I might be back much later with a declaration about the vacuum.

Is it sad that I'm excited about a vacuum cleaner?

It works!!!!!!!

After painfully deleting and reinstalling Itunes....again and then plugging the damn thing into a usb port at the back of my desktop as opposed to the front...it works. Plus it's completely up to date and it now has the 314 songs I had in Itunes plus Chap 1 & 2 of Oprah & Eckhardt in video. I still have 14G of memory to play with. I can synch my email to it...this is craziness.

This this itouch thing is funky. I dabbled a bit on itunes and it entered my consciousness that one can dowload tv shows and movies. Never will a Greyhound bus trip to Olds, AB be boring again.

I did contain myself and not purchase anything yet....I do now need a holder for it so I'll look into that.

I stayed on track food wise and have my day planned well today. It's just two days until weigh in, I can keep it together.

I have a new ebay obsession...Dyson vacuum cleaner. I really, really, really want one of these. Their stupid expensive but I've heard nothing but good things and I could probably leave it to someone when I'm 90. Oh yeah, I just got my bonus too. I'm not going to rush into anything as there are things my house needs far more than a new vacuum cleaner... but I'll keep my eye out.

Okay I did purchase one thing not off of ebay but from home depot...a new WW scale. This thing is funky, it measures hydration, body fat and weight and it will keep track for me. The one I have now is just weight - this old one will come to work for our challenge. Being a tracking obsessed person, I love to have new thing to track. Hey, it's how I amuse myself.

Alright...back to work.

Bah Ipod!

I got an Ipod Touch off of ebay. I bought it used but it has a warranty saving roughly $120 off of a new one.

Well it arrived yesterday and it's pretty.

I get home and immediately (well after Biggest Loser) hook it up to my computer. Of course I must get rid of current itunes and download again for it to recognize the new one.

So I do that, then get confused about deleting so I don't...stupid stupid... then I have to download itunes again. Ok, plug in ipod all seems good. Itunes suggest upgrades, ok I do upgrades. Itunes says it will take 2hrs, I say o.k I'm going to bed.

This morning I go check on ipod. Screen says "error Ipod 1604" then it goes away. Itunes says upgrades complete but restore is highlighted. I hit restore. It does it's thing and then says the same error. Crapola, I google error 1604 and a bizillion mentions of this error occur. So I try one of the suggested fixes, doesn't work. At this point I'm out of time and must go to work.

So tonight I will see if I can fix it, if not it's going back. I'm so disappointed. I get excited about this new toy and shazam it doesn't work. I don't know who to blame the ebay dude or Apple.

Another mystery of the universe. How could I be so good with staying on plan last week and this week is a challenge. All is not lost according to WW with flex points I get 203 for the week. Well if I stick to my 24 for today, Thur and Fri I'll clock in at 201.

I do not want to see a gain on Saturday. I will be strong. I worked far too hard last week to blow it this week.

Hey, nsv of some sort...stress of Ipod didn't result in any type of snacking whatsoever.

Whoo hoo!

Blah days lead to mindless musings

I have cold symptoms....crap. I've been in denial for a few days. Felt a little off, with a je ne sais quoi coldish kind of feeling. Yesterday the sneezing started. So I grabbed the extra strength Cold FX, oh yes not the normal kind this one has silver on the package so it must be the superhero of Cold FX. It's stupid expensive so it better work. I like the fact that you don't need to take it 3 times per day. I tried it when I had the superhuman flu a few months ago, it did nada. Mind you no cold/flu medication helped at all. This time around I think it's just coldish. So I took the 3 capsules yesterday morning and 3 at 6pm (that what they say to do first day). I could tell I had cold symptoms but it wasn't full on cold.

Last night, I decided to take Nyquil to ensure a good nights rest...whoa nelly. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling totally loopy. Obviously I wasn't sick enough to take that but happily when I woke up this morning no loopiness remained. I took 2 Cold FX capsules this morning and so far so good. I feel off but not sick.

I have a feeling it's going to be quiet today which always leads to blahness in the office.

As I read through the blogs I've seen quite a few people mention "I can make you thin" on TLC. I watched a few episodes and I'm not crazy about Paul McKenna's interaction with the audience but he does have interesting things to say. The 2nd of his golden rules is - eat what you want, I should have followed that last night. The theory is if you deny yourself something you are far more likely to binge later. Well I had a run in with that last night.

Thanks to Jugo Juice (my arm wasn't twisted I went under no duress) and my favourite Banana Buzz. I was without points for supper, I knew I'd be dipping into flex and wanted to keep it low points. All the way home I wanted something spicy, more specifically the veggie samosas sitting in my freezer which would be 6pts. I didn't want to use that many so I thought I'd have veggie soup (2pts), while that was heating up the noshing started. I had these mini baguettes type things that are 9 for 3pts. I intended to have two...oh no, had the soup, then ryvita with light veggies cream cheese and so on. The stupid thing is if I had the samosas I wouldn't have been on a quest for the flavour I was missing. I wound up using a whole lot more flexpoints then 6 that's for sure. So this means perfectly on track for the next 4 days.

The strange thing is when I weighed myself this morning I was a pound down from the day before....bizarre.

I have 7pts for dinner tonight so I may be having those samosas after all.

Have a groovy day!
